Accidental Fracture (AF)

This benefit pays a fixed amount in case the insured is involved in an accident and sustains a fracture.

The following amounts are payable depending on the fracture:
 

  • skull, pelvis, femur, spine: $5,000
  • rib, sternum, scapula, humerus, patella, tibia, fibula: $1,500
  • any other bones: $750
     

Issue Ages - (Age nearest)
 

  • 15 days to age 60 
     

Benefit Cost
 

  • Fixed - Guaranteed
  • Ceases to be payable when insured turns 65
     

Termination of Coverage

The earlier of:
 

  • the insured's 65 birthday
  • the date the benefit or the contract is terminated
     

Characteristics

The benefit will be payable for each fracture or complete severance, provided that the fractures are due to separate accidents. When several fractures are due to the same accident, the Company pays the higher benefit.

If death occurs within 30 days of the accident, no benefits will be paid. If benefits have been paid, they will be deducted from the amount of life insurance.

Under certain circumstances, the Company pays twice the amount when the insured is involved an accident.
